Blanket battle: does placement matter for C-Section warmth?
NCT ID NCT05314075
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looked at 124 women having planned C-sections to see if placing a forced-air warming blanket on the upper body or under the body keeps core temperature more stable. Both blanket positions are already used in hospitals. The goal was to find the best spot to prevent heat loss during surgery. Results could help improve patient comfort and safety.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
forced-air warming blanket (Bair Hugger)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could help hospitals choose the best placement for warming blankets during C-sections to keep patients warmer and more comfortable.
What could go wrong
This is a small, completed study focused on temperature measurement, not a new treatment. The results may not apply to all patients or surgeries.
