Doctors pinpoint perfect timing for Pain-Free stomach scopes

NCT ID NCT07471893

Summary

This study aimed to find the safest and most effective moment to insert a camera tube into the stomach during a 'painless' exam. Researchers tested whether waiting for two specific signs from the patient—a relaxed jaw and a stable heart rate—was better than the usual single sign. The goal was to make the procedure more comfortable and reduce side effects like coughing or drops in blood pressure for the 342 healthy volunteers who participated.
