Summary
This study tested a therapy called Behavioral Activation, adapted for veterans struggling with both alcohol use disorder (AUD) and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). It compared this approach to a standard relapse prevention treatment. The goal was to see if helping veterans engage in more rewarding, alcohol-free activities could improve their symptoms and daily functioning.
