Texts & coaching aim to tame blood sugar in rebellious teens
NCT ID NCT04066959
Summary
This study tested a new behavioral support program designed to help teens and young adults (ages 16-25) with Type 1 diabetes improve their daily self-care and lower their long-term blood sugar levels. The program used tools like text message reminders, motivational coaching, and question guides for doctor visits to help participants feel more in control and confident in managing their diabetes. Researchers aimed to find the most effective combination of these supports to create a better program for this age group, who often struggle to keep their diabetes under control.
