Fasting mimic boosts cancer immunotherapy in new trial
NCT ID NCT07564219
First seen May 23, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether raising levels of beta-hydroxybutyrate (BHB), a natural molecule produced during fasting or a low-carb diet, can safely improve immunotherapy for multiple myeloma. About 45 patients receiving CAR-T cells or bispecific antibodies will be randomly assigned to a ketogenic diet, BHB supplements, or standard care. The goal is to see if BHB enhances immune cell activity without causing severe side effects.
