Mind over movement: brain training may boost arm recovery after stroke

NCT ID NCT07525609

First seen May 01, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This small pilot study tested whether a brain-computer interface that gives real-time feedback during mental imagery of movement can improve arm function in people who had a stroke at least a year ago. Seven participants completed a four-week program combining physiotherapy with either real or fake neurofeedback. The study aimed to see if this approach is feasible and whether it leads to better motor recovery and brain changes.
