Old TB vaccine tested as potential Game-Changer for type 1 diabetes
NCT ID NCT02081326
Summary
This study is testing whether giving the BCG vaccine multiple times over four years can help people with established Type 1 diabetes. Researchers believe the vaccine might eliminate harmful immune cells that attack the pancreas, potentially allowing it to produce more insulin naturally. Participants will receive either the actual BCG vaccine or a placebo injection in this double-blind trial.
