Summary

This study aimed to create a human challenge model for tuberculosis (TB) using a harmless bacteria called BCG. Twenty healthy adults received BCG under the skin to see how the body fights it and how TB drugs might work. The goal is to test new TB vaccines and treatments faster and more safely in early-phase trials.
