NCT ID NCT05212246

First seen Jan 23, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study tests whether a cream called imiquimod can prevent new basal cell carcinomas (a common skin cancer) on the face of veterans who have already had two or more such cancers. About 1,630 high-risk veterans will apply either the active cream or a placebo to their face daily for 12 weeks. Researchers will then track how many develop new facial skin cancers over the next one to three years.
