First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated Apr 25, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This early study tested whether a focused ultrasound device can safely and repeatedly open the blood-brain barrier in 3 patients with high-grade glioma (a type of brain cancer) who were receiving standard chemotherapy. The goal was to allow more chemotherapy to reach the tumor. The study focused on safety and whether the barrier could be opened multiple times. It was completed, but results are not yet reported.
