New hope for tough colon cancer: drug cocktail boosts surgery success

NCT ID NCT06791512

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether adding two drugs (bevacizumab and a PD-1 inhibitor) to standard chemotherapy before surgery can improve outcomes for people with a common, hard-to-treat type of colorectal cancer. About 166 adults with locally advanced pMMR/MSS colorectal cancer will be randomly assigned to receive either the new combo or standard chemo alone before their operation. The goal is to see if the combo leads to higher rates of complete tumor disappearance and longer survival without the cancer coming back.
