Scientists map tumor blood flow during surgery to boost future cancer treatments
NCT ID NCT01455363
Summary
This study aimed to understand how blood flows through basal cell carcinoma skin tumors. Researchers temporarily blocked and then restored blood flow to tumors during surgical removal while measuring blood circulation changes with a special laser camera. The goal was to learn about tumor blood vessels to potentially improve future cancer treatments like chemotherapy and radiation.
