NCT ID NCT06886048
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether taking barley green supplements before meals can help reduce visceral fat (the harmful fat around your organs) in people with high body fat. Sixty-six participants will either receive barley green plus a calorie-controlled diet or just the diet alone. Researchers will measure changes in fat area and look at gut bacteria to understand how barley green might work.

What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a simple, natural supplement to help reduce belly fat and improve metabolic health.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with only 66 participants. The results may not apply to everyone, and the supplement is tested alongside a calorie-restricted diet, so any effect might be small.
