Can an arthritis drug shrink hidden HIV reservoirs?
NCT ID NCT07028385
First seen Dec 16, 2025 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study tests whether baricitinib, a drug used for arthritis, can safely reduce the hidden HIV reservoirs in people whose HIV is already well-controlled with standard medication. Thirty adults with suppressed HIV will take either baricitinib or a placebo daily for 12 weeks while continuing their regular HIV treatment. The goal is to see if baricitinib can help shrink the virus's hiding places, potentially leading to better long-term control.
