New score aims to prevent malnutrition after Weight-Loss surgery
NCT ID NCT07268209
Summary
This study tested a new scoring system designed to predict a patient's need for vitamin, mineral, and protein supplements after weight-loss (bariatric) surgery. Researchers looked back at the health records of over 4,500 patients to see if the score accurately reflected the level of supplements needed based on the type of surgery performed. The goal is to create a simple, standard tool to help doctors compare different surgical techniques and better personalize patient care plans to prevent nutritional deficiencies.
