Faster stitches for pelvic surgery? study aims to cut operating time

NCT ID NCT05760794

Summary

This study is comparing two different types of surgical stitches used to attach a supportive mesh during a common procedure for pelvic organ prolapse in women. Researchers want to see if a newer 'barbed' stitch is faster to use than traditional individual stitches, while still being safe and effective. The study will enroll 52 women aged 21 and older who have bothersome prolapse symptoms and are planning this specific type of minimally invasive surgery.
