Heart treatment trial tests Balloon-Only approach to avoid permanent stents

NCT ID NCT07397845

Summary

This study aims to compare two methods for opening blocked small heart arteries: drug-coated balloons versus traditional drug-coated stents. It will enroll 1,380 adults with coronary artery disease who have narrowed arteries that are small, long, or complex. The goal is to see if using a balloon that delivers medication and then is removed works as well as or better than leaving a permanent metal stent behind.
