Heart treatment showdown: balloon vs. stent in major international trial
NCT ID NCT07363161
Summary
This study aims to see if a drug-coated balloon is as good as or better than a drug-coated stent for treating blocked heart arteries in high-risk patients. It will enroll over 2,100 adults with coronary artery disease who have additional health risks like diabetes or kidney problems. Researchers will compare how well each approach prevents future heart problems and serious bleeding over three years, while also checking which is more cost-effective.
