Heart study tests Balloon-Only procedure to avoid permanent stent

Summary
This study is comparing two procedures for treating blocked heart arteries. It is testing a drug-coated balloon that inflates to open the artery and then is removed, against the standard drug-coated metal stent that stays in place permanently. The goal is to see if the balloon method is as effective as the stent at keeping the artery open long-term, while potentially reducing the need for long-term blood thinners. The study will enroll 256 adults with significant blockages in medium-to-large heart arteries.
