Sound waves and balloons: new approach for hardened heart arteries
NCT ID NCT06657833
Summary
This study compares two procedures for treating severely hardened heart arteries. After using sound waves to break up the hard calcium deposits, doctors will test whether using a drug-coated balloon works as well as or better than a traditional drug-coated stent at keeping the artery open. The research involves 128 patients with coronary artery disease to see which approach provides better long-term results with fewer complications.
