Heart plaque showdown: High-Pressure balloon vs. sound wave therapy
NCT ID NCT07093788
Summary
This study is comparing two different tools doctors can use to crack open hardened, calcified plaque in heart arteries before placing a stent. One tool is a super high-pressure balloon, and the other uses sound waves (intravascular lithotripsy). The main goal is to see which method helps the stent expand better inside the artery, which could lead to better long-term results. The study will also check for safety issues and heart-related problems within 30 days.
