New coated balloon could reduce repeat surgeries for urethral problems

NCT ID NCT06795074

Summary

This study tests whether adding a drug coating to a balloon used to widen narrowed urethras helps prevent the narrowing from returning. It compares the drug-coated balloon against a standard balloon in 230 men who have had at least one previous procedure for urethral stricture. The goal is to see if the drug coating reduces the need for additional treatments or major surgery.
