New balloon device aims to keep leg arteries open longer

NCT ID NCT07385573

Summary

This trial is testing a special balloon coated with a drug (paclitaxel) that doctors inflate inside blocked leg arteries to open them up. The goal is to see if this device keeps the arteries open longer and reduces the need for repeat procedures. It will involve 200 people with significant blockages in their leg arteries who have symptoms like leg pain when walking. The device is already approved for use in Europe, and this study aims to gather more real-world safety and effectiveness data.
