Heart study tests which balloon procedure better prevents future heart attacks
NCT ID NCT04242134
Summary
This study compares two types of balloon angioplasty procedures for treating complex blockages where heart arteries split. Researchers want to see if using a drug-coated balloon works better than a standard balloon at preventing future heart attacks, cardiac deaths, or the need for repeat procedures. The trial involves 784 patients with coronary artery disease at 25 international sites, with follow-up monitoring for 12 months.
