Veterans test High-Tech balance trainer to stop dangerous falls

NCT ID NCT04359888

Summary

This study tested a new balance training system designed to help older veterans at high risk of falling. The system, called the Balanced Assessment and Training Protocol (BATP), uses a reaching task that pushes participants to the limits of their balance to improve stability. Researchers compared this high-tech training to a standard exercise program to see which was more effective at improving balance and reducing fall risk.
