Scientists watch how amputees fight to stay upright
NCT ID NCT05301270
Summary
This study aimed to understand how people with below-knee or above-knee amputations keep their balance when a platform they're standing on moves unexpectedly. Researchers compared 29 adults with leg amputations to healthy individuals, measuring their muscle activity and body movements. The goal was to gather knowledge about balance strategies, not to test a treatment.
