Can baking soda give cyclists a winning edge?
NCT ID NCT07171047
Summary
This study is testing if taking sodium bicarbonate, a common supplement, can help well-trained cyclists perform better during long, intense rides. Participants will complete two lab-based cycling sessions—one with the supplement and one with a placebo—to see if it improves their time trial results and reduces muscle fatigue. The goal is to provide clearer guidance for athletes on whether this supplement is effective for competition.
