This study tested a new, easy-to-use blood culture system called BactInsight in hospitals in Benin and Burkina Faso. The goal was to see if it can diagnose bloodstream infections faster and more reliably than current methods, helping doctors use antibiotics more wisely. Over 1,700 patients took part, and the system was compared to both manual and automated lab techniques.
