NCT ID NCT01842360

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study tested whether a bacterial vaccine called MV130, taken daily under the tongue for 12 months, could reduce the number and severity of flare-ups in adults with moderate to severe COPD. Researchers compared it to a placebo in 198 participants and followed them for 18 months. The goal was to see if the vaccine could help manage the disease and improve quality of life, though it is not a cure.
