First seen May 07, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looks at how bacteria from the gut might travel to other parts of the body and cause infections after abdominal surgery. Researchers will collect samples from 209 adults having planned abdominal surgery, including blood, tissue, and swabs, to track bacterial DNA. The goal is to understand the route bacteria take to cause surgical site infections, which could help prevent them in the future.
