Scientists map the pain: new study seeks to decode your backache
NCT ID NCT04433299
Summary
This study aimed to better understand low back pain by identifying different patterns or 'types' of pain. Researchers enrolled 150 people with back pain to complete questionnaires and some underwent special pain sensitivity tests and brain scans. The goal was to link a person's specific symptoms to the underlying mechanisms of their pain, which could help guide future treatments.
