Summary

This study tested a new rehabilitation approach called the Immediate Functional Progression Program (IFPP) for adolescent athletes with spondylolysis, a stress fracture in the lower back. 64 athletes aged 10-19 were randomly assigned to start physical therapy right away or wait until their pain went away. The goal was to see if starting rehab sooner improves function, pain, quality of life, and speeds up return to sports.
