Scientists map 500 Babies' DNA to predict future health
NCT ID NCT05161169
Summary
This study explored whether reading a baby's entire genetic code (whole genome sequencing) could be a useful health screening tool. Researchers enrolled 500 healthy infants from diverse backgrounds in Boston, New York, and Birmingham. Half the babies had their full DNA analyzed to look for genetic risks, and the team then studied the medical, emotional, and financial effects on families and doctors to see if this approach is practical for regular pediatric care.
