One pill before labor could shield moms and babies from infection

NCT ID NCT06543290

Summary

This study is testing if a single dose of the antibiotic azithromycin, given to pregnant women before their labor is medically induced, can prevent infections in both the mother and baby. It will involve 400 women in their third trimester who are scheduled for labor induction. Researchers want to see if this simple, low-cost step can make labor safer and reduce hospital stays.
