First seen Dec 10, 2025 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding the antibiotic azithromycin to usual care can help people hospitalized with a sudden worsening of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). About 30 adults with mild to moderate IPF will be randomly assigned to receive either azithromycin plus standard treatment or standard treatment alone. The main goal is to see if the antibiotic shortens hospital stays and improves breathing and recovery.
