Off-the-shelf cell therapy takes on hard-to-treat blood cancers

NCT ID NCT03666000

First seen Feb 02, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This early-stage trial is testing a new treatment called Azer-cel for adults with certain blood cancers (non-Hodgkin lymphoma, B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia, and related conditions) that have returned or stopped responding to standard therapy. Azer-cel is a type of immune cell therapy made from donor cells, so it can be given "off the shelf" without needing to collect the patient's own cells. The study aims to find the safest dose and see if the treatment can shrink tumors or put the cancer into remission.
