New cream tested for stubborn hair loss condition

NCT ID NCT05416333

Summary

This small, early-stage study is testing whether a cream containing azelaic acid can help control Central Centrifugal Cicatricial Alopecia (CCCA), a type of scarring hair loss that mostly affects women. Researchers are comparing the cream against a placebo to see if it reduces inflammation and might help slow hair loss or promote regrowth. The study involves 18 women who have been diagnosed with CCCA and are on stable treatment.
