New pill aims to tackle stubborn cholesterol

Summary

This study tested whether a new daily pill called AZD0780 could lower 'bad' cholesterol (LDL-C) in people who already take statins. Over 400 adults with high cholesterol took different doses of the drug or a placebo for 12 weeks. Researchers measured cholesterol levels and checked the drug's safety to see if it could be a helpful add-on treatment.
