New cholesterol pill tested in early safety study
NCT ID NCT06742853
Summary
This early-stage study tested a new experimental drug called AZD0780 when added to existing cholesterol-lowering medications. Researchers enrolled 81 healthy adults with high 'bad' LDL cholesterol to check how the body processes the drug, its safety, and its effect on cholesterol levels. Participants took AZD0780 or a placebo along with one of three standard medication combinations for 28 days.
