New hope to protect the gut after transplant complications

NCT ID NCT06598332

Summary

This early study tested whether adding a drug called AZA to standard steroid treatment could better control a serious complication called graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) that affects the gut after a transplant. The goal was to see if this combination was safe and could protect the gut's stem cells from long-term damage, which is a known problem even when steroids help. The trial was withdrawn before enrolling any patients.
