First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study was designed to test whether adding a drug called 5-azacytidine (AZA) to standard steroid treatment is safe and feasible for people with gut graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) after a stem cell transplant. GVHD occurs when donor cells attack the patient's body, and gut involvement can cause long-term damage. The trial planned to enroll patients aged 12 and older, but it was withdrawn before any participants were enrolled.
