Summary
This study tests whether awake prone positioning (lying on the stomach while awake) can improve breathing in sickle cell patients with severe acute chest syndrome in the ICU. Researchers will enroll 15 adults to see if this simple technique helps oxygen levels and reduces breathing effort. The goal is to find a safe, low-cost way to ease symptoms during this life-threatening complication.
