First human test for drug aiming to tame deadly 'Cytokine Storm' in lungs

Summary
This is a first-in-human safety study of an experimental drug called AVM0703 for patients with severe, life-threatening lung failure (ARDS) caused by COVID-19 or influenza. The study will enroll 16 critically ill patients who are on a ventilator or life support to test if a single dose of the drug is safe and how it behaves in the body. The main goal is to find a safe dose and gather initial data to guide future, larger studies.
