First seen Mar 23, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study tested whether using an automatic device to keep the breathing tube's cuff pressure steady could prevent pneumonia in children on ventilators. 241 children aged 1 month to 18 years were randomly assigned to either automatic or manual cuff pressure checks. The goal was to see if automatic control reduces pneumonia rates compared to manual checks.
