Summary

This study tested a new device called the LIR system that automatically gives fluids through an IV during major abdominal surgery. The goal was to see if it could keep the patient's blood volume at a safe level, as judged by the anesthesiologist. The study was stopped early and involved 30 adults under general anesthesia.
