Smart drain device could make spinal fluid removal safer and easier for seniors

Summary

This study looks at whether an FDA-approved automated device can safely drain small amounts of spinal fluid in older adults (60+) with normal pressure hydrocephalus. The device monitors pressure continuously and aims to reduce human error and improve patient comfort. Ten participants will be observed to see if the device is feasible and acceptable for routine use.
