Smart pacemaker aims to outdo doctor Tune-Ups for failing hearts

NCT ID NCT04774523

Summary

This study tested a new feature for heart failure pacemakers called AutoAdapt. It automatically and continuously adjusts the device's timing to try to improve heart function. Researchers compared this automatic adjustment to the standard method where doctors manually optimize the device using an ultrasound scan. The goal was to see if the automatic feature worked as well as or better than the doctor-led method.
