Scientists hunt for brain signals to speed up autism treatment development

NCT ID NCT05294705

Summary

This study aimed to validate a set of tools to measure social function in children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Researchers tested 400 children, aged 6-11, with and without ASD, using brain wave recordings (EEG), eye-tracking, and behavior assessments over 24 weeks. The goal is to create reliable, objective measures that can be used in future clinical trials to test new treatments for social challenges in autism.
