First seen Apr 04, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study tests whether using a special device (Auryon Atherectomy System) along with standard balloon angioplasty is safer and more effective than balloon angioplasty alone for clearing blockages in the lower leg arteries. The trial will enroll 50 people with severe peripheral artery disease (critical limb ischemia). The main goal is to see if the combination treatment reduces the risk of death, amputation, or need for repeat procedures over 12 months.
