Video Game-Like training aims to get stroke patients moving again
NCT ID NCT07487207
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether a special augmented reality training program (AR-FIT) can improve balance and mobility in people who have had a stroke. Researchers will compare AR-FIT to standard therapy in 78 adults aged 40-70 who are at least 3 months post-stroke. The training involves 24 sessions over 8 weeks, using interactive tasks that integrate real objects. The goal is to see if this engaging approach leads to better physical function and higher patient motivation.

What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a new, engaging way to improve balance and mobility for stroke survivors.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial that has not yet started recruiting. The benefits of AR-FIT over standard therapy are unproven, and results may not apply to all stroke patients.
